Debi fitzgerald

Debi, who now lives in Ocala Florida with her husband, enjoys life on her farm taking care of her horses and dogs.  Originally from West Virgina, but with roots in Louisiana, she eventually settled in Florida.  Debi studied art at Florida State University.  In her early years she worked as a professional photographer with several of her photos finding themselves prominently on various magazine covers.  She has had two pieces accepted into the American Academy of Equine Art as well as Pastel Journal's Pastel 100 competition.  She had had several of her pieces land on the cover of the very popular weekly magazine The Chronicle of the Horse.   In 2012, Debi was the official artist for the Aiken Steeplechase and in 2016 her painting of Liza Boyd on Brunello became the official USHJA Hunter Derby International Championship poster.  She is an avid dog and horse lover,  and enjoys bringing her subjects to life with her favorite medium pastels but also still enjoys working with oil.  One of her oils was awarded a spot in the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association.  Since 2010 she has dedicated both her time and talent by working on numerous pieces for the Danny and Ron's Rescue advertising calendar.
